You Must Know - Part 3

How to be born-again?

To get an answer to the above question you have in your mind, you must complete 'You Must Know - Part 1 & 2'.

1. You are born spiritually dead.

2. You must be born-again.

Salvation is a three phase event in the life of a believer

1. Get saved or become born again,

2. Getting saved everyday.

3. Saved on the last resurrection day.

No one ever born in the History as Christians

According to the Holy Bible, no one is born as christian. Look at the scripture:

Romans 9:6-7

Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: Not at all.

13 years after the day of Pentecost, disciples of Jesus were called CHRISTIANS at Antioch. Who were these Christians before?. They were either gentiles or Jews. Even after 27 years from the day of the Pentecost, Jews accused the disciples a sect of Nazarenes.

The name Christian is a spiritual term denoting to the author and finisher of the New Testament faith. It is not a genealogical term for anyone to use. It was not called by the testator of the New Testament faith, but by the people of the world.

From Spiritual to Natural

The Scripture gives us the knowledge that, Adam became a natural man who lost the Spiritual nature after the fall. Hence we all are natural people who lost the glory of God.

So the Scripture says;

1 Corinthians 15:46

Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

Therefore it is true that you must be born again or get saved through the wonderful name of Jesus. Because from the biological parents no christians can be reproduced.

John 3:6

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Salvation is not by your good works

Salvation is a free gift by God. It is by faith in the Son of God who gave His life as a ransom for you and me. None of our good works or any kind of belief system or any form of rituals should boast on attaining salvation.

Even if you donate your body organs for others or your body for cremation after death, Bible doesn’t give you a place in heaven. It is unscriptural to believe that visiting holy places and praying according to the belief system you shall get salvation. The Bible teaches us that; Acts 4:12

Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

First accountable sin

The very first sin which God accounts on a person is not repenting and believing Jesus for the forgiveness of sins. Jesus said, when the Holy Spirit comes, He will remove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement:

John 16:9

Of sin, because they believe not on me;

Listen to me very carefully. Principal sin of a person is not believing and accepting the forgiveness we receive through the shed blood of Jesus. Afterward comes all other unholy / indecent activities we commit everyday.

How to get saved?

1. Repent

Repentance is demanded by God from everyone. Repentance paves way for the Mercy of God.

Psalms 32:1

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

Acts 17:30

Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent,

An act of feeling sorry

Repentance is an act of sorrow for displeasing God and man. A true repented person always forgives and reconciles with others as well as God through Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 7:9-10

Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

An act of submission

Repentance is a sign of submission, which yields to the Holy Spirit direction of life. It is the most joyful occasion for the heaven and the angels.

Luke 15:10

Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

A state of joy and gladness

It brings joy and gladness, unity and love among others. Healings and deliverance, blessings and favours are granted the moment true repentance takes place.

Luke 19:9

And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

Cancel God’s wrath

God repents about the judgement against those repented and his wrath is taken away.

Romans 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Luke 13:3

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

Repentance washes all your sins

Act of repentance makes God to clean your book of sinful records. It gives you a right standing in the presence of God with a clear conscience, however, your past life were.

Acts 3:19

Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;

2. Confess sins

Confession is an act of openness. Acknowledgement of the fact and submission to the truth. Confession declares the righteousness of that person’s true identity and gives you victory over guilt and condemnation. It makes the person eligible for a righteous verdict of mercy over him. Confession begins the process of declaring God’s righteousness through the power of the blood of Jesus.

Proverbs 28:13

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper:

but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Psalms 32:5

I acknowledged my sin to You,

And my iniquity I have not hidden.

I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,”

And You forgave the iniquity of my sin.

1 John 1:9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

3. Receive Jesus

After the confession and forsaking of sins, you must get ready to receive Jesus by faith in the Scripture.

Listen carefully. Everyone is born with natural faith. For example: Faith in the parents and siblings when it comes to your protection, food and safety, but you don’t trust strangers from the very birth. When you prepare yourself to receive Jesus, God inputs a portion of spiritual faith to trust Him with your spirit through the Holy Spirit.

Romans 12:3

For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

From this moment onwards you have a natural faith and a spiritual faith simultaneously working in you. Natural faith works through your soul and spiritual faith works through your spirit.

John 1:12-13

But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Matthew 10:32

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

Romans 10:9-10

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

After the confession and acceptance of Jesus, you have been declared in the earth, and in heaven as a child of God.

Salvation is the free gift of God

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Let us pray a short prayer.

Lord Jesus, thank You for this day. I acknowledge my sins. Forgive me of my sins. I believe the blood of Jesus washes me from all my unrighteousness. I forgive others in Jesus name. Lord I confess Jesus as my Saviour and Lord. Come into my heart and live in me in Jesus name. I believe and declare that I am a child of God recreated in the image and likeness of Jesus. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
